We just came back to this hotel to finalize our wedding booked in the hotel for next July. We loved this Venue from the first moment we saw it !! It’s so unique, beautiful, full of charm. We wanted a wedding of 60/70 guest all on site for our wedding and this venue is perfect . We have it booked for 3days for our wedding celebrations. The rooms are beautiful and spacious , the restaurant is fabulous with lovely breakfast and dinner options of excellent quality . The staff are all so friendly and helpful. They could not have done enough for us to make us feel relaxed about our upcoming big day . The hotel is built into a hill and set on beautiful garden grounds. We can’t wait to come back and have our wedding here.
This hotel is a bit out of the way if you want to spend much time in Rome. We stayed there because it is unique. It is about 1 hour drive to the city center. It has been beautifully restored. Our room had a suana tub, no shower. It's a little weird, but we managed.
This location is pretty far from the closest metro line.
While they do offer an affordable $10 per person shuttle, it leaves at 9am and only picks you up at 7pm.
It's fairly tough to get to and the rooms aren't nearly as nice as some of those depicted.
But it was clean, the grounds were pretty, the staff were ok, and the food was alright
Disappointed. The restaurant food was just tasteless, good presentation but literally no flavor, below average. Not more than 2 beers brand choice, no dark beer, no sweet wine... Room are very small and you hear everything from the neighboring room (phone conversations, farting, burps etc entry single thing). Location is good. General facilities are ok. I can not come back for this price.
I can not express how I truly feel about our stay here. It was unbelievable. The staff were so friendly and helpful, no matter what we needed to ask they made the biggest effort to help us.
On our last day here we had an issue with our transfer not arriving to take us back to the airport and the lovely lady, Roberta, who was on reception rang the transfer company for us to find out what was happening and because they "told" us to take a taxi as our she ordered us a taxi so we were able to get home on time.
The restaurant at the bottom of the hill is such a lovely relaxing place to spend an evening and the restaurant at the hotel is so quaint and more for a date night restaurant.
The rooms were amazing and the bed so comfortable, it was like a home from home. Our room had a balcony which was so nice to sit out on as the weather was still quite warm. There were shutters on the balcony doors which was perfect for someone like me who isn't great at sleeping unless it's completely dark.
They have a shuttle service that will take you to the closest metro station which is 10 euros per person for both ways. There is also a bus stop just on the roadside outside the hotel gates the 025 which takes you to Casalotti then take the 146 to Battastini to take the metro into Rome. The metro station has ticket stations which are multilingual and offer multiple options for tickets, 24 hour, 72 hour and single.
All in all this has been the most amazing holiday I have been on as an adult.
Seems like the hotel is in refurbishment process. The team was not nice, hot water was available only part of the day.
Food was awfully bad.
I stayed here for 2 nights in June, the location was beautiful remote and quiet from the city, It can be difficult to reach if you don't have a car there is a shuttle bus from the hotel that offers a once daily service to rome, The room itself its beautiful it lacks a few things theres no kettle inside the room theres also no wardrobe inside the room the layout of the toilet can be a bit tight the sink basin is stuck beside the toilet a bigger person would struggle to seat on the toilet, the bed inside the room is mediocre its a double bed by my standard they could use a larger bed, also be careful if wondering around the premises as there can be a lot of lizards about and I stumbled upon a snake while going up the steps beside the reception obviously not the hotels fault its the location so always keep a look out where you step.
We stayed at Hotel Castrum Boccea for 4 nights in May 2022. We had a jacuzzi suite and was very pleased. Our room was cleaned daily and we loved the location of the hotel. The food at the restaurant was great (most of the time). Some of the best food we had in Italy. The biggest drawback to this hotel is that it is also a huge wedding venue. There were weddings on the days we decided to stay in and enjoy the countryside. You’re very limited on where you can go when a wedding is occurring and staff is preoccupied with the event. So, longer wait for food/drinks. I would have given this place 5 stars, as the location was beautiful and the majority of the staff (especially at the restaurant) were very welcoming.
